EMS Body Atelier co-founders Colleen Ferguson and Andy Maser in Santa Barbara

The Founders

Colleen Ferguson and Andy Maser founded EMS Body Atelier as a family business rooted in community.

Colleen's path to EMS is a story many women will recognize. A ballet dancer, graduate of Westmont College, and one of Santa Barbara's most respected Pilates instructors, she opened Atwill Pilates in 2018 and built it into the city's premier Classical Pilates studio. Her own postpartum pelvic floor recovery led her to EMS training — and the results were immediate. She knew she had to bring it to Santa Barbara.

Andy brings a filmmaker's eye and a lifelong athlete's instinct to everything EMS Body Atelier does. As an Emmy Award–winning documentary and commercial filmmaker, he shapes the studio's creative vision — and rolls up his sleeves for everything else. Together, Colleen and Andy have built something that reflects who they are: a Santa Barbara family that believes in doing things with intention, care, and a personal touch.

EMS Body Atelier is the natural extension of everything Atwill Pilates represents — and a reflection of what Colleen and Andy believe training should be.

EMS trainer Erin Featherstone at EMS Body Atelier Santa Barbara

Erin Featherstone

Erin Featherstone brings nearly 30 years of experience as both a certified personal trainer and licensed massage therapist — a combination that gives her an exceptionally deep understanding of how the body moves, recovers, and responds to training. Her career began with one-on-one training in sports massage alongside a soigneur on the Tour de France, sparking a lifelong passion for helping people move, recover, and feel their best. She went on to work at the Santa Barbara Back & Neck Care Center, developing expertise in injury recovery and pre- and post-operative training that she brings to every session. Erin has worked with clients across all ages and stages of life — from athletes to new parents to active grandparents — and is also a certified life coach with a focus on mental and physical wellness through life's biggest transitions. In her free time she surfs, hikes, and spends time with her family.
